Playlists

Playlist 4 ♫: October 29, 2014

So I realize I've been kind of absent on social media and stuff... I really do feel bad, so I'll probably start a following spree or something and post some pictures on Instagram (leave us your Instagram and/or Twitter usernames and we'll be sure to follow :P). And because our schedule was thrown off, I thought I'd throw it back on track with a playlist post... so here goes!

Recently I've been really into listening to the Alternative stations on iTunes Radio and Pandora. Several songs have come up that I have forgotten the names to, but here are some of the songs I've been hearing a lot.

Sky Full Of Stars, Coldplay
(album: Ghost Stories)

I'm not sure if this really counts as Alternative, but whatever. Coldplay has always been one of my all-time favorite bands, so this heartfelt song really did not surprise me too much. I mean, it's just so good and so is Coldplay... so yeah lol. I like to listen to this song and look at the stars (tacky, I know) and even imagine laying under the stars with that special someone (even more tacky considering that special someone does not exist yet). I just can't even begin to explain my love for the song, as it brings me to tears every time it comes on.

Stolen Dance, Milky Chance
(album: Sadneccesary)

The first thing that drew me in was the catchy intro to this song. The singer's voice is also raspy with a little edge to it, so that's pretty cool too. There's not much more to say except if you haven't heard this song then you definitely should give it a listen.

Yellow, Coldplay
(album: Parachutes)

This song has always been a classic for me. I remember when I was little my mom would always be singing and humming it, so it's been in my life for a while. The lyrics are so sweet and symbolic yet simple, so I don't even know how you couldn't like it.

Shut Up and Dance, Walk The Moon
(album: Shut Up and Dance - Single)

I actually despised this song when I first heard it. But, like any leech, it grew on me and now I find myself singing every lyric whenever it comes on iTunes Radio. Something about the beat and the random "SHUT UP" in the middle of the chorus are just really intriguing.

Warriors, Imagine Dragons
(album: Warriors - Single)

Imagine Dragons is another one of my favorite bands, so there's really nothing else to say, but "Warriors" is amazing and really deep and I just love it so much lol #oops.

Dangerous, Big Data (ft. Joywave)
(album: Dangerous - Single)

This song is really upbeat and it's really fun to just kind of nod your head to, if that's something you enjoy doing. Although, I advise you not to watch the official music video, unless you particularly enjoy looking at women tearing people apart and eating their flesh (bloody, gross, and extremely irrelevant).

I Bet My Life, Imagine Dragons
(album: I Bet My Life - Single)

I first heard this song earlier today while I was doing homework and I thought it was good enough to mention. It's a new song, but it's really good so let's give it some support :)

I Lived, One Republic
(album: Native)

I love singing this song because of the range of pitch and falters in part of the song. And trust me, I can't sing, so songs have to be extremely good in order for me to want to sing them.

Centuries, Fall Out Boy
(album: Centuries - Single)

The beginning of this song reminds me of "Tom's Diner" by Susanne Vega (also an okay song, in case you were wondering) but then the beat just kind of drops and explodes and it is ah-mazing, so you should listen to the song. Do it.

My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark, Fall Out Boy
(album: Save Rock and Roll)

I'm not sure if this song classifies as heavy metal because the beat is pretty sick (I sound like a teenage boy, sorry), but nonetheless it's pretty good. The lyrics and yelling isn't too great, but the overall composition of the song itself is cool.

So that's it for this playlist post! I hope you enjoyed my excitingly different taste in music and maybe this gives you a snapshot of me as a person and my life... I don't know lol

See ya on Friday ;)

Playlist 3 ♫: October 16, 2014

Hello there! Please do pardon the lateness of this post, but forgetfulness was taken by illness and this poor post was almost left behind.

Almost, but not completely.

Here are the songs I've been enjoying lately:

Touch, Troye Sivan
(album: TRXYE - EP)

This song is amazing because of the background music, and Troye's voice. Do look up the other songs on the EP as well, they're all amazing!

One, Ed Sheeran
(album: +)

I've been a growing fan of Ed recently, and I've been loving One. It's just brilliant and beautiful, as usual.

Beating HeartEllie Goulding
(album: Divergent Soundtrack)

This has been on my phone since July and I haven't stopped loving it. Perfect for when you need a little break to close your eyes.

Clocks, Coldplay
(album: A Rush of Blood to the Head)

I've been listening to this non stop as I've started to play it on violin. You can always count on Coldplay to sound amazing on any instrument!

That's all! I know it's short, but I'm quite picky when it comes to songs you see. Hopefully you'll end up adding some of these to your monthly playlist:) look out for a blog post tomorrow!

Playlist 2 ♫: September 24, 2014

Hello again beautiful people! Today is Wednesday, which means it's time for another playlist post! Comment below if you want us to do these more often, but it makes more sense to do them every 2 weeks since I typically don't switch up my playlist THAT often.

These past few weeks I have been really into a wide variety of songs and bands. I know Ana only posted about 5 or so of her top songs, but I will bore you to death by posting twice as many. Sorry 'bout that.

Let's get on with it then...

Somebody To You, The Vamps ft. Demi Lovato
(album: Somebody To You - EP)

I don't even know what about this song appealed to me since I generally do not listen to anything by Demi Lovato (just a personal preference), but I play it all the time, especially when I'm walking to the bus stop (and Starbuck's, duh).

Wait On Me, Rixton
(album: Wait On Me - Single)

I love this song so much you don't even know. I was kind of obsessed when "Me And My Broken Heart" came out, but this song knocks my socks off. The beat is awesome, the voices are amazing, and honestly that's all that matters, especially when I've had a long day at school.

Heart Made Up On You, R5
(album: Heart Made Up On You - EP)

I never really thought of myself as someone who would listen to R5 but man, this song is amazing! It's got just enough punk but quite a bit of pop and um, who doesn't enjoy listening to Ross Lynch's beautiful voice? Quite frankly I would listen to him read his grocery lists (yes, that was a Fault In Our Stars reference).

Animals, Maroon 5
(album: V)

Yeah, I realize this song probably has a dirty meaning behind it, but I love to ignore that since this song is life. Plus, the official music video is pretty amazing and the special effects are awesome, so you should definitely go check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BJ3ZXpserc

It Was Always You, Maroon 5
(album: V)

I literally want to cry because I want to go to the Maroon 5 concert so badly but tickets are $100 at cheapest! This song makes me cry and smile at the same time because it's so sweet that I'm just like, "Why can't I have somebody who feels this way about me?" I mean obviously I always have Ana, even if we grow up and raise a cat farm, but still?

Riptide, Vance Joy
(album: God Loves You When You're Dancing - EP)

I love how this song is calming and energetic all at once, but the lyrics make no sense. Sometimes things just make more sense when they make no sense though.

Secrets, Mary Lambert
(album: Heart On My Sleeve)

I wish this song had come out when I was 12. It would have made finding my true self so much easier to wrap my head around. I think the true meaning of this song is to just be yourself, there's no one else who could do it any better than you, so suck it up and embrace your true personality.

Somewhere In Brooklyn, Bruno Mars
(album: Doo-Wops & Hooligans)

Funny how accurately his description of the girl fits me. Literally, I live in my beat up Converse. This song came on Pandora the other day and I just can't even. It's slow and sweet and perfect and it's too much.

Headphones, Matt Nathanson
(album: Headphones (feat. LOLO) - Single)

I heard this song for the first time on the radio and I fell in love, that's how amazing of a song it is. I feel like it accurately describes most of my emotions too, which is a plus. To be completely honest, I was playing this song so much that I think my grandma started to like it. And the only music she ever listens to comes off of a violin.

2 On, Tinashe
(album: Aquarius)

This is probably the strangest out of all. It comes on all the time when I'm walking and for some reason I tend to walk faster and with more purpose when it's on. Maybe it's the cool beat? I don't really know.

So that's all I have for you guys :) I hope you enjoyed a peek at my rather odd music taste. If you have any recommendations or know of any good songs, please comment them down below and we'll let you know what we think! You can always tweet us or DM us on Instagram too ;) @twotimeslife

Don't forget to look out for Ana's blog post on Friday!

Love ya ♥︎

Playlist 1 ♫: September 10, 2014

Hellooo! So we've decided to try something new, and hopefully it's something that you'll enjoy.
Every two weeks, one of us will post a list of our current favorite songs, and we're going to switch off, so Ash will post on one Wednesday and I'll post on the Wednesday two weeks afterwards.

We're calling it "The Playlist" because, well, that's what it is. Our monthly playlists. Woohoo!

Okay okay, I'll stop blabbering. Here are my favorite songs right now:

Sunday Morning, Maroon 5
(album: Songs About Jane)

This is a major throwback to 2002, but I literally play this song on repeat! When you start, you won't be able to stop listening to it!

Home, Gabrielle Aplin
(album: English Rain)

This song came onto 8tracks one day, and I am obsessed. It's like a hidden gem, and her accent makes me so jealous :)

Shirtsleeves, Ed Sheeran
(album: X)

So one of my best friends is absolutely obsessed with Ed, and she recommended this song. It's probably going to be one of my long time favorites, it's beyond lovely.

Preacher, One Republic
(album: Native)

I went through a stage a while back where I downloaded the whole Native album, and I listened to every song so much that I got, to put it nicely, sick of it. However, one song popped up randomly the other day, and I remembered just how much I loved it. Do give it a listen, it's  a m a z i n g!

Maroon 5's new album (V) !

Oh. My. Goodness. My all time favorite band has released yet another album, and it's perfection. Here are my favorites (so far):

            -Maps
            -Leaving California

            -It Was Always You

            -Coming Back For You

Those are the songs that I always listen to as I walk home, and they range from quiet to motivating to simply adorable. Please do let me know if you give any of them a listen!

Until next time,

Ana
